Hélder Martins was nominated General Manager for the Hyatt Regency Lisboa, a project owned by United Investments Portugal (UIP), with estimated opening for April 2022.
Hélder has joined UIP Group to drive Hyatt Regency Lisboa opening and lead from the start a new multidisciplinary team on a project that intends to be a hospitality reference in the Portuguese capital.
Hélder Martins counts with more than 20 years of international experience in the hospitality management area for luxury brands, having been in three continents and six countries and collaborated with different brands, such as Sheraton, Westin, Marriott and W Hotels.
Before accepting this new challenge, Hélder Martins was the General Manager of the Hotel Cardoso, in Maputo (Mozambique), owned by the Westmont Hospitality Group. Hélder has also worked in London, between 2018 and 2021, as Sheraton Skyline’s Operations Director, from Marriott International; Santiago do Chile, where he took on F&B Director functions at the W Santiago – Marriott International, between 2016 and 2018; and Brazil, at the Sheraton Barra Hotel & Resort – Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Rio de Janeiro, between 2015 and 2016, also leading the F&B department, amongst others.
Hélder Martins started his career in 1999 in Portugal, at Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa – ‘The Editory Collection Hotels’, and between 2004 and 2013 he was in the F&B department of Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa – Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he consolidated his expertise. The profissional has a Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism, from the Escola de Negócios de Barcelona.
